Default 65barracuda wiring

I switched in the distributor from a 1974 dart into my 65 barracuda and the problem is during start there is not enough power to start (to the coil) the car, but during run the is the car will start if you get it cranking fast enough and let off, it sputters to life after awhile.

Sounds like the balast resistor or the wiring is not right. I'd recheck the wiring and replace the balast.
