Sorry Tim. I can't answer this one but, what's the stall speed and it's % of slipage.
Theres a degree of error or bracket of time and ET that will fit.
Based on launch rpm and how well your car hooks up.

I did see a program for this someplace. I may post again.

If those are truly the correct numbers (3100 lbs. WITH driver and 475 HP) it should go 125 mph @ 7000 rpm give or take.

thanks b1 ken, yup the weight is bang on, horsepower should be very close , the fella i bought the motor from said it tailed off at 6500 rpm with street tires, so I am kinda concerned about rpm at end of quarter, I assume the 29 by 15 goosier slicks are taller then the ones he had so maybe it will work out just about right. I have on the car now 28 by 10 by 15,s and I am getting wheel spin with the 430 gear if i do not do a really good burnout. When i bought the motor he gave me a set of 4.56 and 4.88,s with the deal so i figured I might as well try the 4.56 and see what happens, Tim

Rumble: Yes I did race at Islip (I live about 1 1/2 miles from there and could even hear the announcer when the wind blew our way). Speaking of L.I. race tracks, I went out to West Hampton two weeks ago to test the 'Cuda and it was a waste of time and money. The 'Cuda spun the tires ON the THROTTLE STOP! It's really a travesty that with all of the racers here on the Island that we don't have a track even to test on let alone bracket race at. I spent $65 for two useless runs and left to go have a beer and a burger at the Triangle.
Tim: Sounds like the wrong direction to go (4.56 instead of 4.30)

Your right. Only 1 track, not in great shape, about to close down. E-town is next closest at twice the time and money to get there. I have very little hope for anything new. It is a shame the powers that be will ignore a multi million dollor money maker.

Makes me want to move to N.J. That Sunday night tow across Staten Island, the BQE and the L.I.E. makes one think "is it really worth it?"

Okay b 1 ken so your saying stay with 430,s and 28 tall tire or go with the 29 tall tire, the reason i have to ask is we have 2 short tracks here, on the island, one is 300 feet the other 380 and once a year the airport is used for 2 days in august for quarter mile and I want to get the best I can out of this set up. Thanks Tim

$65 for 2 passes..Yikes I'm going to quit whinning about our track....880' concrete launch pad, full 1/4 mile all paved pit roads, 100 paved pit stalls, paved staging lanes that hold 300 cars, 150 acres of groomed gras parking, all aluminum grandstand seating for 10,000.

Friday night T&T....$20.00 and you can get easily 25 passes

Regular points race $30.00

Division 6 race $140.00 Thursday Friday Sat and Sunday.

Damn! Thats a good deal! Here its:

$35 T&T
$45 Street Class
$75 Pro ET
$10 Jr. Dragster (I should cut up my car and turn it into one of these, look at that price!)

The prizes are barely worth the effort, which is why the only people who race are the ones who love racing. 1st is $150 2nd is $75, no 3rd. The time I won 2nd I figured it out and I broke even perfectly after I put $20 gas, paid the entry and changed my 2 back tires.

$10.00 T&T, you might get 4 passes if you get there at 5PM and stay all night. Not worth it most of the time, we don't call it Spinworld for nothing.

$35.00 to race Super Pro, $1000 to win

$30.00 to race street, 10.00 sec and slower foot brake only $300 to win.

Still the track is marginal at best and down right crappy at it's worst. They don't do a good job of running it either, they only race once or twice a month and then it usually runs into the wee hours of the morning before they cut it off and split the pot. I can however drive 2 1/2 hours to either Moroso Motorsports Park or Gainseville Raceway. Both are better kept tracks and the show is run better. There are a couple smaller 1/8th mile tracks around but quite frankly one is an independent track that does absolutely no tech inspection, it's kinda scary, and the other isn't a good track either. Maybe I'll move to Oregon. That sounds like a nice track you got up there Cuda.

Don;

Trust me, your track is a paradice in comparision to LI Drag way.
Sand and gravel for pits. (Most of the track.)
Police can be a bear on the 495.
The town folk, although they haven't been there long, complain to high heaven about the track. Even though it is close to 50 years old.
Politics up the ying/yang over everything. (Track closeing, who got there hands in the pot, court proceedings on closing, OH, wait, that's illegal, back to court, pointing fingers, etc...
Hampton snobs whom think there Gods gift and so on.
Powers that be trying not to be draged down.
What should be built? More court dates on the matter.

It's insane. All this BS over the last long time I can't even remember when it started.

We just wanna race without traveling over 100 miles and 2-3- or 4 bridges with tolls. Crappy roads aside, and there NO joke ethier.

If we want to go to a test and tune at Englishtown on Sunday, they get $100 for 6 runs. You must make the call to the staging lanes for those six runs though. You can't just pull up any time and expect to get a run. If you miss a call you lose the run. The track is well prepped and you can get some good test runs in spite of this. You can run on Wednesday nights for $25 but you take your chances with the condition of the track with all the street cars that are there. For us on Long Island, we have to get on the road at 6 AM and hope the Long Island Expressway is not jammed up. (about 40 miles for me). Then we get on the Brooklyn - Queens Expressway (the beloved BQE) and likewise hope that that road is moving. We then cross the Verrazano Narrows bridge (toll $13) and cross over to Staten Island which also can be jammed solid (almost ALWAYS is on the way home). We have to cross another bridge (only has toll returning - $8). The whole trip should take only 1 3/4 hours, but usually takes 3 - 4 hrs. What gripes me about some of these tracks (not E-Town) is that they charge for your crew as well. My wife basically sits in the truck and reads a book while I run, but she gets charged a "spectator" fee as well. This is for a test and tune only session, so there isn't any race to spectate.

Our tracks here on vancouver island aren,t bad just short, like I said 1 is 3oo feet and the other is 380 with true 1/4 mile once a year. The problem for me is the closest one is 3 hout drive away but no tolls just deisel and food and oh yeah the fee for racing is 25 and 10 per each crew.. I usually get 5 to 8 time trials then it,s just plain good or bad luck after that, lol. But one day I,m gonna win that darn lottery and build my own and invite the whole world board up here fpr racing and some good old fashioned salmon fishing, one day, Tim

We aren't spoiled! They owe us and I don't even drag race. But there are no autocross facilities. We can go to Bremerton Drag strip or the Boeing parking lot in Everet. 2 hrs both ways.

Laugh Paradise??

After reading all this, I think we are really in Paradise afterall!!

Reynolds, GA. [SILVER DOLLAR Raceway] 2 hrs each way.. rather to do that than put up w/ the crap from Wally's crowd at Atlanta Dragway..
TnT at least 2 nites a week.. $10 and $5 for crew. [usually get at least 10 runs in!!]
Track is NHRA, is flawlessly prepped and maintained.. Owner is a Super street racer..
We "rent" it whenever we need to do testing for magazine article info.. Usually only a few bucks for all day!! It's FULLY prepped for that too!!

I think I'll stay where I am!!

PS: we race from end of Jan, early feb thru late Nov too...

Well guys oacked up hedded out for races, 2 1/2 hours of rain all the way, get close to track, dry as can be, wait for gates to open, uh oh start sprinkling, uh oh getting worse, open gates hmm stops raining, unload the cars do some laps, try and dry it out, yup its working , then uh oh here comes the rain again, they call the race and we all pack up and dam the sun comes out . Oh well learned a bit about slicks and gears from other racers, fella checked out my footprint with some water on my slicks and uh oh my fault to much air in there , was leaving about 1 1/2 inches on either side of the slick off the pavement. Well sure as hell gonna try with less air on friday, well that,s racing, Tim

Heheh, all you poor babies...oh boo hoo I have to drive 3 hours to get to a good track. I have to make my car waterproof and have a 400ft exhaust snorkel if I want to get to a halfway decent track. You think you hate gravel pits? try SAND pits. Grass growing up through the end of the lanes, the return lane from hell that throws you airborne if you go over 50 on it and to top it all off, the only water there is available there is so saturated with iron that if you put it in your rad youre gonna have a nice cornflake consistancy in your cooling system in about a month. That water isnt even drinkable it tastes so horrible. Id gladly drive 2-3 hours for a T&T, specially with my 2.76 gears

DodgeBoy318;

Easy there Dboy, I think you have never sat in N.Y. traffic before. If you did, you would be glad to do what you can to get where ya can. Snorkel and all.
Besides, your not suposed to do 50 in the return lane. We don't have water. Unless the ocean counts.
