Default 426 hemi

I am currently restoring a one owner 1967 Plymouth Satellite. It is a 383, 4 speed car, and I was curious, if I decided to put a 426 hemi in to it where would I begin my search for a hemi? How much should I expect to spend? ( A bunch I'll bet

Thanks

Refinance the house and you can buy a Hemi starting about $8000. But don't forget all the other nice to haves like exhaust manifolds/headers. A Hemi transmission (although the 383 will probably fit you're gonna get a lot more torque outta the Hemi). Rear springs would be nice with the extra leaf, and maybe a Dana rear. Now your talking about $12000. But a Hemi sure is sweet isn't it.

The prices of old 426's are so high they make the new ones from mopar performance seem almost reasonable.

You could shop on ebay, there you could piece on togather. I you may find I have seen a Hemi block sale for 500$ on there once but needed minor repair/sleeve in one of the cylinders. Personally I would love to have on, even though I think that there overpriced and over rated. A well planned 440 engine will haul the grocerys just as fast as needed. but man they are Eye candy for sure.........Check ebay

www.ebaymotors.com

search parts and key word hemi!

John Arruzza builds probably the best for the buck "Crate" motor Hemi I know of...$13,500 as a starter comes complete from intake to oil pan, you'll need a carb and a distributor and titanium kahoney's.
