Ode to the White Knight
I'm on my way to Mopar day at Dragway Park, Cayuga. I'm driving my infamous 1975 Valiant Brougham sedan. At that particular time, I had a new Shadow for daily so the White Knight was spiffed up with a nice 72 340. It had a low gear 904 and a 3.91 suregrip. There's a big hill on the way up from Hamilton and we were stopped at the lites at the bottom of it. It was then that this mid 80's pukevette pulls along side. When the light changed, we took off normal. I put my fender ahead of his, he mine, mine his, etc. I guess we both floored it at the same time . You should have seen this dork when we got to the top of the hill and I was right besid him. His girlfreind was laughing her head off because the dummy couldn't beat a 4 door plymouth with a hood ornament.
As a footnote, the White Knight left this world under rusty circumstances in 1998. Even in death, its parts live on.
