Default valve body vs. trans kit

I'm getting ready to go thru my 904. I want full manual control. Trans-Go sells a trans kit to turn my automatic into full manual control. What's the difference between using this kit verses buying a Cheetah manual valve body besides the price?

Thanks,

Rob

Default vavle body

Years ago B&M use to sell a kit that did the same for a 727.
This kit did eliminate all automatic fetures as well as giveing hard shifts.
It also maintaned the factory shift pattern.
The installation had to be done by someone who knew what they were dealing with.
This was before cheata valve bodies were around.
they require very little experiance for installetion and perform the same task.
Shift patern is available in forword or reverse pattern.
Although your question was 904 related.
I would think the results would be the same.

With the B&M and TransGo kits, the fluid must still be routed by the shift valves, this will never be as efficient as the currently available MVB's that route fluid direct through modified passages.

The nice thing about the kits is that they still apply the rear band in 1st gear, this is good from a safety standpoint. Most MVB's don't apply the rear band and the sprag longevity is compromised. Not all MVB makers offer the rear band apply and when they do it costs more.

Worth the extra bucks IMHO.

A&A has a manual that applies the rear band.

look under valve bodies in the list on the left

They also have a bunch of other neat parts like aluminum drums, lightened sun shells, 4.2:1 front levers, max wedge and hemi crossrams....
