Default Fuel pump pressure?

I have a carter hv mechanical on my 340. When it start up and runs on high idle it has 9psi. Slowly (within 2 minutes) it drops to 6.5psi and then stays there. Is the 9psi anything to be concered about? should I install a fuel pressure regulator?

I don't think you need to worry unless it is pushing the needle and seat open.

Call me at the shop, I've got a deal on some rockers for you.
