rolleyes A727-rebuild or not

I blew out my A727 a few weeks ago and finally got to taking it apart this weekend.
Most of the parts seem to be in OK condition. The part that got all torn up was the
overrunning clutch, however the low/reverse drum will also need replaced. The other
part I'm questioning is the crack in the case where the overrunning clutch fits. This
transmission has been rebuilt before. It looked like the crack could have been there
all along, not sure ? The overrunning clutch seemed to be held securely in it's posiition.
Should I do anything about the crack ?
I looked for those parts on the web, even the forum reference to A&A Transmissions,
which I couldn't find, and couldn't find the parts. Would the dealer have the parts ?
Is it even worth rebuilding ?

Since the case is cracked you would need a new case too. TCI will have all the parts you need or just buy a new one from them ready to go with a warranty. www.tciauto.com They can fix you up better than anyone else can.

If the crack in the case is in the area of the raised rim that surrounds the overrunning clutch outer cam ring, a bolt in sprag can be used and the crack won't be anything to worry about.
Bulkparts is a good source for all the rebuild parts you'll need.

If you want to install a reprogramming kit during the overhaul, the TransGo TF-2 is the best bang for the buck.

HELL......just find a good core stocker 727 trans that has a good sprag in it A or B engine or even a /6 and pull it out of that case.

THEN drill and tap the cam and bolt it into YOUR case.

WHY do you think you will need a new first/reverse drum?

Thanks to all.

The first/reverse drum is scoured where it rides on the sprag clutch. And the rim where the band rides looks like it has been dropped on its edge, its bent in and there is a crack where the bending starts.
