Default fuel pump it up!

I'm thinking about purchasing a rebuilt 94 magnum 360 to replace my aging 318. I know the cams are different between the LA and magnum engines, and this is an issue for installing mechanical fuel pumps. I want to be carbureted when I'm done.

What's the easiest route here?

Install an LA cam? But won't that force me to change my magnum lifters?

Can I install an electric fuel pump and still be carbureted?

Yes you can use an electric fuel pump and use a carburator. You may want to use a fuel pressure gauge if the pump is a more powerfull one. The experts will tell you which pump would be best for the setup you have.

Can anyone tell me what the setup would be for an electric fuel pump?

Things to keep in mind, pressures etc.

Elc pumps are made to push fuel not pull so mount close to the tank/cell use a regulator to control # and return excess fuel to tank

Electirc pumps are used all the time with carb engines. Just need to regulate it to 7-8 psi, or it can blow the needle and seats out. Many people use a Holley blue with a regulator with good results. The make a black pump that dont need a regulator and is a preset flow and pressure.
