Magnum and older LA question.......
What I would REALLY like is the serpentine belt setup on newer Magnum V8s from Dodge trucks. Will the accessories bolt up to my '74 model 360 in my Ramcharger?????

I have done the opposite swap, old accessories on the magnum block, and they fit no problem
You would have to swap timing cover, water pump (reverse rotation) as well as all the bracketry and ps pump and alternator. There might be more bolt holes on the magnum head so there may be some issues there too. Hope this helps... |

Old style is a pain......
It seems that I am always having to adjust my belts. I found out the other day that my PS pump bracket was broken from over tightening. The newer setup would be a dream! March sells a bolt on kit for serpentine belts but that it is $800+ No thanks! I could buy a used magnum 360 with all the accessories for that kind of bread! |

Why not go the whole nine yards and swap the magnum in!

Uh oh, you got me thinking! :)
DARN, you know that isn't a bad idea. Yeah, a magnum 360 in my '85 Ramcharger. Would have to swap it to a carb and intake though.
Need to find a relatively low mileage 360, don't want no 150K mile oiler. |
