318 roller block performance
I have a 318 roller block in my daily driver. I like the car and would like to hold onto the 318 till something better comes along. Unfortunately roller cams are around 350 bucks a piece.
Is it possible to convert this block to a hydraulic cam, and what would be involved. Thanks Jeff |

Hi,
What year is engine? Hughes can re-grind your cam for about $200. I'm building a 89 Roller 318 engine and have the same questions. bbeep71 |

I do believe that just swaping the right parts in is all you need to do. Cam & liffters with correct length pushrods and springs to match. Done. But, I would honestly change the cam. and springs.
A Hyd. change over for a on the cheap? Yea, for a street ride, sure. Ex; Comp Cams complete kit $309 and add P-rods for anothe $70 or so. The roller is $350 and springs extra. Probably under $70 |
