340 re-assembly?
Okay i got the heads assembled, bolted and torqued yesterday, which brings me to the next step, measuring for new pushrods. I have read some of the posts regarding this procedure, and when using my adjustable pushrod and having only 1.5 to 2 threads on the adjustable rockers I took a quick measurement and came up with 7.875. Remeber this was just a real quick setup and i just snugged the shafts down to do this but doesn't it seem like that is too long of a pushrod? I know it is what it is i just haven't seen a measurment that long in any book. This is a Racer-Brown solid cam setup with Comp pro-magnum rockers and shafts.
What are you solid cam SB people measuring your pushrods at? |

On my 340 I used the 1322-16 Comp Cams rockers on my" X" heads and the pushrods were Comp cams 7970-16 5/16" pushrods length is 7.750". Just a tad under the length of a stock small block chev. Would have been slightly cheaper.

At the time I ordered one of the Comp Cam checking gages. Saved a lot of time.
