Post junk intake or try it?

I had a friend just give me a Team G intake that has been milled like .080 inch. Its a very good condtion besides this. I was wondering if I could band-aid this up and run it on my 440 engine that has not been milled much. I was told that he run this intkae for years with good results bu doubling up on the gaskets, running the valley pan and fiber gaskets togather. I was curious on whatbthe average thickness was on the fiber/paper intake gaskets?

All it will cost is some gaskets to find out.

I think it will work.

as long as you can get it to seal ,and the bolt holes line up,go for it,you may have to "wallow" a hole or 2 on stock angled heads,,

Hey 6
I don't recall the thickness of the factory composet's.
However felpro sells a gasket that should fix you right up.
The trouble is I don't recall the part #.
But the gastets are (THICK).
I would guess between 40-60 thou.
Perhaps someone else can supply you with the number.

Yup, a couple gaskets should work just fine, but dont stinge on the gaskets, when you need to 'stretch' the use of them, you better go with good quality (as forementioned, Felpro).

the felpro valley pan with the blocked heatriser comes with 4 paper gaskets. i have tried useing these gaskets to mate alum intake to alum heads and found it to be to tight so i used a sealer instead but they may be perfect for you.
