Default alternator wiring

i need some help with my alternator wiring. i tried to post a picture that i drew but it wouldnt let me. i will try ity like this.

BATTERY POSITVE TERMINAL-----------------------ALTERNATOR TERMINAL WITH NUT/FROM ALT FEILD TERMINAL-------------VOLTAGE REGULATOR FLD TERM/OTHER TERMINAL ON REGULATOR---------------VOLTMETER------------IGNITION SWITCH HOT

iS THIS CORRECT? the alternator only has two wires.----- reps wires.

You say the alt as two wires. I am guessing that you mean one battery connector and one field connector.

If that is correct then this is the basic wiring...

+ on battery to starter relay. from starter relay to amp/alt gauge. from amp/alt gauge to batt term on alt.

field from alt to field side of regulator. IGN side of regulator goes two different directions. One is to the ballast resistor. The other goes to IGN 1 of the ignition switch.

ok i see now. mine is a little different because i am using a fuse block with terminals for the regulator and the ballast resistor. thanks for the help.
