There are no headers that can work around the torque shaft, however, TTI makes a special torque shaft just for this.

The only way for a header to clear that linkage is to sacrafice a lot of ground clearance. I honestly don't think that Hooker or Hedman will clear that linkage. I know that they never used to. Besides, Hedman is crap.

Even if Hooker or Hedman make something that will clear, I think that the linkage that TTI has is a superior solution.

So you can buy headman headers and make them fit if you got the torque shaft?

I put a pair of hedman $99 dollar specials on my 74 swinger w/318 and 904. It sucked getting them in, I believe I had to massage them just a little bit. They did fit with stock linkage. And they did scrape on every bump, and pothole. (even had to fix the #1 pipe about 10 times over the next couple of years becuase it kept getting flattened.)

they worked. i didn't like them.

If your flattening the pipes then your front end is not set up right. I have yet to flatten a pipe woth a proper set up front end on an A body.

when the pipes hang 3 inches lower then anything else on your car. it's not suspension.. it's pour header design. it's a common problem, and why people like to pay extra for tti's.

On both of my A bodies and my F body my lower ball joints are the lowest point not my headers and they dont scrape the ground either. We probably run more Hedmans than Hookers though and they fit real good. Let me know and I'll help you set a car that wont hit them unless you just dont know how to drive one right.
