Question tranny problem!

hello!
my friends '69 barracuda's 904 died yesterday...
only reverse working!

came driving pretty hard, and when the tranny tries to shift to 3", it revs like neutral. then no power forward...
oil level fine, oil smells good..
any ideas?

Sounds to me like it's broken. Tranny shop time.

The rear clutch has failed. Either the metal sealing rings or the rubber seals are leaking.
In either case this causes the clutches to slip and burn up; this can only be repaired by removal and disassembly.
