Default More airflow

I am looking for a new air filter Assy for my 4bl carb but wish to use the standard pie pan. Since the pie pan has the larger deflection in the center, a custome type cover will be required. Does K&N or any other brand make a model that I can just drop on my current pan?

tks

Yes. K&N makes one. I have 2 filters. 1 for the MoPar performance unsilenced aircleaner and 1 for the stock aircleaner that came on a 70 something s/b Challenger. MoPar used the same size airfilter for years. Jegs or Summit lists them in there catolog every time.

Default Complete unit

Allow me to qualify my first entry. Its not the filter I need, that is the easy part. I want to replace the entire stock black restrictive air cleaner with an open free flow unit. I can buy lots of chrome off the shelf units but the mopar pie pan will not fit nicely on top. I was hoping someone made a top cover so my "340 four barrel"
tin could add a nice touch.

How about the K&N Extreme filter top. It fits like a standard 14" lid, however, it is made of the same filter element material that the K&N filters are made of.

Wouldnt putting a Pie pan on that top, kinda kill the design? Any 360 deg open air cleaner will breath just as good as that thing any how given a good element.

My bad, I didn't notice the fact that he is wanting to retain the use of the engine call out pan.

I did see once a fella chop up a stock unit to retain his pie pan. I was not impressed by his work or the look.

One way aorund it is to cut the original bottom half of the pan, the part that sits on the carb, open. make slots or windows, to let more air flow through.

Default Make One

Well think I will design one, have a model made for production and begin to market it as a top/bottom assy that will accept the origional pie pan. That will allow you Mopar freaks to install your favorite blue, green, yellow or K&N filter with some class. Then put the origional air cleaner back for car shows.

!!!
Use a early due snorkel ait cleaner and run some cold air ducks to it. It will be functional and still have the pan too. Too bad they are kinda pricey and hard to find.
