The latest CarCraft SB shootout
Hi All;
The $2500.00 Small Block Shoot out is done, any bets on which engine won? Even hampering the 360 with non magnum heads, after the phord (GT-40) and chivy (vortec) got new heads. I feel if the 360 loses, the magnum heads would have been a big plus in my opinion. The decision to use non magnum heads was based upon the better D/P intake for non magnum heads. Personally I believe the LA heads are a bigger restriction to flow, than the D/P intake for the magnum. The intake to exhaust flow ratio is far better on the magnum than the LA head. Also with a little work the RPM air/gap could have been bolted on, and then gone a stomping phord and chivys. Denny |

I think the mopar will come in second. I wouldnt be suprisied if the chevy came in first, those vortecs are a great inprovement over regular sbc heads. Though I would be happily supriesed.

Hi All
The results will be in next months Carcraft, until then everyone is keeping their mouths quiet. I tried to pry some info from Marco Radielovic from CarCraft. He's keeping quiet. Marco R. is the guy who built the W2 headed tunnel ram engine, which destroyed a connecting rod. For some reason a 640 hp 340, overcame conrod safe to 500 hp (who woulda thought that). The engine from the challenge is now in his convertible Barracuda. |
