Default shorty spark plugs for edlebrock heads

does any one know of or use any brand of spark plugs that are shorter for headers. I know Accel makes some , will these work or has anyone used them..

thanks
Joe

Thumbs down

The Accell plugs are only about 1/16" of an inch shorter than the Champions. I put on a set about 3 months ago and I was not impressed for the price you pay. I would stick with the Champions.

Biggrin

I had plug wire problem on my 73 Cuda with a 440. I tried every plug wire known to mankind , Even with insulators one still burned up. I switched to the shorter accels because I found a ceramic plug wire @ napa. A regular plug with the insulator would not fit. They work just as well as champions or NGK's . Albeit they are a little spendy. FYI dynomax ceramic coated headers from summit have terrible clearance to plug wires @ the plug.

So, you're not really having a plug problem at at... You're having a header problem... LOL

Some people have takne a pipe and dimpled the header tube that is causing the problem.

LOL

IMO - a slightly dimpled header is far better than a "dead" (grounded) plug wire !!

I've heard that there is no spark plug clearance problems with the TTI headers. So, you could just buy them and not have to dimple the existing headers... Kidding...

i'm almost thinking about it. If i had the cash i would. I just dont want to go through the pain of installing headers again either.
