If your pistons are that far down (.154) and running unmilled 915 closed chamber heads your compression is very lazy. I think un modiefied the M1 wont result in much maybe a tenth or so if your lucky. Get the compression up around 10:1 I think your calculations are a bit off, more like 8:1 than 8.8:1 calculated with .039 thick head gaskets and around 80 cc heads your looking at 8.1:1 switch to a steel shim head gasket mill the heads .075 and get it up there around 10:1 or so. Advancing the cam to close as 100 deg installed will help also. run as much intial timing as possiable like 20+ and around 38-40 deg total. I like the 528 solid cam very much, it has the both of best worlds. Runs a tenth better than a 292/509 and idles better than a 284/484 hyd. That far down in the hole you could run the 590 solid cam no problem. Sound like you may need more gear/shorter tire and a looser converter, then you will see some et droppage!

What kind of gears, converter & tires are you running? That E.T. is off about .4 sec. for that mph. Is this primarily a street car?
