Denso alt. wiring
I'm converting to a Denso alternator on my '73 Challenger. My question concerns how to wire the ignition switch.
I understand wiring the lug on the alt. to the postive post/lug on the starter relay and the ammeter bypass. My question concerns wiring the ignition switch. From those who have sucessfully converted to the Denso alt., how should the ign. switch be wired. |

I never touched the ignition switch. If you are starting from scratch, then wire it just like stock. a factory service manual will tell you.

Denso alt.
The factory or stock system is designed with a voltage reg. which I am eliminating with this alt. Also I'm doing the by-pass of the amp guage.
What I need to know is from the Denso alt. (there's a plug with 3 connectors in addition to the large terminal) what other wire(s) I should run and to where in addition to the primary load wire which goes to the positive lug on the starter relay. DKN1997, which Denso alt. are you using and how has it worked for your application? |

I am using a mopar denso alt out of an '02 van. this one is designed for an external reg and bolts right in with almost no mods.
search the archives for a thread called alt conversion. complete swap with pics and parts/source list. |
