Default Your insights, please

I posted this at moparts too.

They went in great once I pulled my head out my ass. The only hard parts were,

1. Getting the 4" front hangers in. Had to do some cutting.

2. Fabing the spring bolts, Im still using the iso-clamp for now.

The BUT part is the drive shaft needs to be shorted by 1.5" to 2". Strange, because there wasnt a prob with the factory springs. Maybe the guy who but the 8 3/4 in got it to fit somehow. It sits and I think the stance is fine. It all measures even on both sides.

Any comments about the driveshaft issue? Thanks

I'm with dave on this one, what is the question? Did you change springs? Did you change the diff.?, What did you change and what are you after other than knowing that the driveshaft is wrong now.

OK, This weekend I changed to SS springs. When I went to put the driveshaft back in it was an inch to long. Fiddled with for a half hour and no dice. It fit before with the old sloppy stock springs.

Got home today to mess with it some more and it went in. Only thing that I did any different, was jacked the car up a different way.

Sometimes I am amazed that I can even work on a fricking car. Thanks for you alls patience.

Took it for a test drive and it drives much better. The rear is a lot stiffer. The stock springs must have been real wore out.

So how does the stance look to you guys?

I would still be very concerned about the DS length. If it is too long, your going to screw up the tailshaft of the tranny.

Jack up the rear of the car and support the weight of the rear on a pair of jacks stands placed under the axle tubes. Now crawl under and see how tight the slip yoke is. If it is all the way in, you are going to break something.

No help just though I'd say what a clean and tidy Garage you have mine is so crowded I can hardly get out of my car once parked in the garage let alone work on it.............And I have to do the interior some day soon..............Please be sunny!!

O.K., now I see it. My opinion is that the stance is good, but you will have to get some bigger wheels and tires in there to fill up the wheel well. It kinda looks my my new Neon, which I am going to drop, because of too much wheel well showing. This is just my opinion, take it for what its worth. I would be a little concerned about the driveshaft also. If it is too tight into the tailshaft without about 1.5" clearance to the front of the u-joint yoke, you will get a fairly bad vibration and damage may occur due to the flexing. This happened to my buddies Dart Sport which he soon repaired.

Ill jack it up this weekend and double check the slip. A local shop charges only 45.00 to chop it if needed. Ill be going the ET drag radials that are around 26" tall.

I had just finnished cleaning the garage when that pic was taken. It is usually destroyed, but it's also 1200 sq ft. So I can spread my mess out.
