Exclamation No Break in Lifters?!?

I was wondering if this is for real or not. I read about them in this months Mopar Action and was extremely intrigued. They are from www.schubeckracing.com

What do you pros think of these things, are they for real.

The real shocker is the price! $700 + for SB Chrysler! That is a lot of cash for lifters!

That's clearly up to you, but, I would rather break in a set of lifters and spend the rest of that money on something else.

hello, schubeck lifters are for stock eliminator camshafts use. the idea is so you can run a ton of valve spring pressure on your hyd or solid lifter cam. another advantage is no break in and you can use them on many cams. so, if you're having to replace cams a lot ,for whatever reason, then these are a bargin.
schubeck also has a radius nose lifter for roller cams, does away with the roller lifter. roller lifters don't last long with a ton of valve spring pressure. hope this helps

I am not actually interested in buying them. I just was wondering if anyone has used them and if they really do what they say they can do. I also was trying to justify the price.

I don't plan on swapping cams regularly so the traditional lifters for me are a much more appealing deal. The guys in MA never seemed to mention the price which really is not a shocker.

Like perfmachst said, they definitely have their place. Think of a dyno facility where they may run tests with large number of cams. The time saved not having to break in each one would be worth it. If I ever win the lottery (probably have to buy a ticket?) I might own a set myself.

For that kind of money you could have a hydraulic roller cam and lifters.

Dont fret your odds of winning with out a ticket are only slightly higher LOL

....I've been studying and contemplating for over a year now....Jim and I have discussed some wild profile cam possibilities using them and Big Big spring pressure to stop the chronic Mopar Valve float.
