X crossover pipe
It's probably been gone over 1000 times before....
I'm building my own exhaust- 2 1/8" primaries on the headers, 10" long collectors, 3 1/2" from there. I'm going with two chamber "Delta Force" Flowmasters. 650 horsepower, 484 cubic inch. How far back should the "X" pipe be? How much of the pipes should overlap? I have my own theories, but I want MORE INPUT!!!!!!!! Thanks! |

Somewhere in front of the mufflers. The location does not seem to make much difference.

The X goes in the middle half way between the header outlet and the muffler inlet for best results. If it where an H pipe which is not as effective as the X pipe it would go as close to the header outlet as possible. Check out www.drgas.com and you can get some more info from this guy that designed the X pipe and nascar set up.

Well, Ive made the crossover, and welded it since this photo, it's 3 1/2" and that's what I'll run right out the back.
Thanks guys for all the input! |
