Default transmission cooler,1/4 mile

HI, Should I put a transmission cooler on my car? it has 904 and its a '74 swinger. Would it help? Today we tested my swinger in the 1/4 mile, me and my dad were in it and 1 window roled down, and then we got an 18. flat. But he said lets test it, and I said how?(because he did it by the speed, and the tachometer). Im guessing that if it was a real 1/4 mile and 1 person, that we would get low 17.'s. Thanks

YEs, withthe 904 you need an extra cooler if you want to race it or the 904 wont survive. It will also help with consistency but wont give you any more speed.
