Default 68 cuda conv. top won't go up ?

I would like to put a cover over my 68 cuda conv. but can't get the top up , the problem is that it's a power top and when I bought the car the wiring was already out and the top has been removed , so is there a way for me to raise the bare bows so that the cover will stay up, the service manual I ordered doesn't cover this , at least if it does I can't find it , can the top be lifted manually I've tried but can't do it.

If the electric motor/motors are still in place you should be able to run direct battery power to it/them and get it to go up...unless the motor is bad.

If nothing else maybe you could figure out how to unhook the linkage from the hydralic units and manually raise it.

Good luck,

Just run a + and - jumper wires to the lift motor and if all else is in opernational the bows should come up but never ever force it just use a bigger hammer

Remove the pins that connect the pump rods to the frame. The frame will move freely.

Ok , the motor is still there with two wires going to a plug the wires are brown and yellow , which one is pos. ? At the top of the lift cylinders there is a pin that goes through the power link , are these the ones that you mean I should remove , if yes should I mark any-thing for placement to make sure that it goes back in the correct spot , I don't want to throw my top out of line.

The power rods are not adjustable. They can olny go into one place on the tops frame.
