Question Mopar P4452783 Cam Question

Does anyone know the .050" figures for Mopar Performance cam #P4452783 ?

I have the rest of the spec as:-

Total Duration = 268/284

Lift = .450"/.464"

Timing = IO 21, IC 67, EO 79, EC 25

Overlap = 46 Degrees

Inlet Centreline = 113

Cam lobe Centreline = 115

.050" Duration = ?/?

Thanks in advance

Total Duration = 268/284
.050" Duration = 227.8/241.4 or 228/241

To figure diration at .050 you take the total duration and multiply it by .850...That will get you close on the mopar cams.

Thank you.

x .850 is that a fact! So all Mopar cams have the same hydraulic intensity ! - OK Seems weird - but OK!

They may or may not have the same level of intensity. The thing is, MOPAR doesn't believe that the 50 number is worth mentioning, so they tell you to multiply by .85 to get the 50 number. At the same time, if they told the 50 numbe, then they would have to get more specific contracts on their cams.

Yet another good reason to stay away from the MOPAR cam.

Call Racer Brown and tell them what you have and what you want to do with it. He'll give a great recomendation.

Any more advice from anyone here would have a need for that same info. IE., what are you going to do with the car/engine and what is the car/engine?

Thanks amxauto-x

I know Racer Brown is very good but at the moment I am not looking for a cam .............. I will be at some time in the future and it is good to know what you have so that you have a "start line" to modify from.

The reason I started this chain now was due to the need to know the .050" duration when selecting a Demon carb. Demon bases it's carb recommendations on the .050" duration among other things.

Yes, that is where Demon carbs are based. The MOPAR concept of multiply by .850 will get you in the ballpark.

I ran this cam in my 440 about 10 yrs ago.
Good cam up to about 5,000 RPM.

Mopar P4452783
Duration @ .050:
208° intake
221° exhaust

Per Chrysler, the ".850" rule applies to their high perf cams.
OEMs are estimated at ".777"
