What's the chamber volume on BB '346 head?
Trying to guestimate actual compression ratio on my 440 rebuild. I have:
.030 over L2355 Speed Pro pistons (anywhere from 10:1-10.34:1 depending on whose book your looking in) 346 casting heads, unmilled just surfaced to clean them up MP .455" Hyd. cam Anyone know the standard chamber cc for the '346 head? thanks. |

The 346 head was rated at 88cc. Due to poor production tolerances, they could be anywhere from 88cc - 96cc with as much as a 2cc variance between chambers.

Ehostler is correct. You have to know the piston deck height and head cc to be accurate. However, with a .019" deck height @.030" over with 88 cc heads your about 9.3:1. Thats a stock stroke with a 9.9cc gasket.
