Default low/rev servo for 727 trans

I have built a SB 727 for my 1979 dodge w200 (snow commander) its got every thing but the manual shift. All the servos get full pressure--ie-- the acumalator is already at full bottom. The problem is that the low/rev servo pushes the stamped steel spring retainer past the clip at the bottom of the bore!!!! I am going to reinstall the new parts again for the 3rd time. I thought this time i might make the tention on the band a bit tighter, thinking maybe this will not let the servo move down as far. Has anyone seen this problem before??? The trans also has 5 pack clutches in the forward and direct packs not just 4. Motor is 318 w/348hp 349tq 4.10 gears full time case. Thanx, Kcmopar426

AnAtrans.com sells a billet low/reverse piston which might help though you might have someother problem? But this piece is supposly aimed at the 4x4 crowd . I put one in a street/strip car since the original was damaged. Try to talk to Rick over there in the evening, He,s very helpful and know his sh a stuff.

I responded to your post on the drag forum. The stock piston does not hold up well to higher pressures with a shift kit and can crack. Inspect it carefully.

Did you install a heavier spring from a kit in the rear servo? These springs are hard on the stamped tin retainer, the numerous machined billet retainers are much more durable.
The A&A parts are nice, check the link below for another nice setup. Scroll down about half way:
