6x9 speakers
anyone having probles with finding 6x9 to fit in the doors of the full size ram trucks due to clearence with the window, try this out cause it works most 6x9 speakers have a 3 inch mounting depth which will not fit in the doors because the speaker magnet will hit the window trac, well never fear i have installed a set of alpine type S sps-690A 6x9 speakers in my doors of my 2001 ram 1500 even though it has a mounting depth of 3 inches alpine includes a trim ring which is a quarter of an inch thick, all i did was take the 1/4 inch trim ring and placed it on the back side of the speakers which gave me the clearence needed to clear the window trac, and the door panels go back on without any problems, i paid about 180 dollars for the speakers but they sound much better than the factory ones do, and if ever you blow them just reuse the trim ring on another pair.

Another tip for limited depth is Directed Studio speakers (hey recommended twice in one day!) as they have funky neo-something magnets which are really slim and this helps fit in tight spaces.
