If it was a running motor and you just wanted to drop it in your car and go than I would think thats a pretty good deal. If its just the long block without carb etc, and is just waiting for rebuild, you could do better. I got a short and long block 360 for $90 canadian, and they're impossible to find here. Just my experiences though.

i think you can do better but if you know it runs and runs well that's not bad.

Idea

Want a cheep 360! Go to the next Demo Derby. After it is over offer the guy with the 71 or72 Fury or Polara $50 for the engine and trans. Getting the whole thing from a passenger car is severel $ cheeper than a truck motor. Another good shopping spot is the abandon car impound yards.

sbknut - Brilliant... just brilliant. It's so good, I'm gonna steal it and tell folks that in a year. Make 'em think it's my idea.

Damn, damn, damn - why didn't I think of that.

Once in a while, there is a gem on this board, and that is one.

It works; I just bought a 360 from a chebbie guy that demoed a Cordoba for $50. Another nut stripped a decient 73 FURY , then screwed up the wiring and didn't make it to the derby. I had to shell out a $100 for that one. But good tires and radiator are worth something. Happy Hunting.

I'm not too keen on the derby idea, unless you just want a core.

After all they're run till they won't run anymore, at the derby. Certainly not a good candidate for a drop in motor.

I mean, it's not a bad idea, but I would think one out of a street driver is a better buy.

Not trying to start an arguement.

There seems to be more of that, than usual ,around here lately.
