Exclamation Will dropbase air cleaner fit a BG Road Demon?

I need to run a dropbase...low hood. Will a Moroso dropbase air cleaner work on the Road Demon?

Something else. Is there such a thing as a Road Demon with manual choke? I DO NOT LIKE ELECTRIC CHOKES! And I don't like the looks of the Demon Jr.

I have a Taiwan drop base that is 2 inches dropped. It fits with the slightest interference on the float adjuster screws. I run a plastic "spacer" that is about 1/4 inch tall, really it is just a ring with a few flanges around it. Im not sure what it is even for, I found it in my junk drawer, but it does fit and it does offer the needed clearance. You could always peen out the interference spots because you would never see them, or run a standard Holley screw, they are flat.

Drop base air cleaners will have clearance problems if not modified, notched or something either from the factory or by you on the holleys and the BG's

You can just modify it its no big deal its on the bottom outta site anyways.

How do you guys run the Demon with hood clearance problems, and no hole in the hood? I mean, how much beating on the air cleaner base needs to be done just to run a BG carb?

No one answered, is there such a thing as a Road Demon, vacuum secondaries and manual choke?

I thought this was THE board with lots of people running Demon carbs.

I have an 850 speed demon with a moroso drop base, and I just had to dent the bottom slightly where the float adjuster screws are.

on you choke question,

www.4secondsflat.com

he will know

I do not think the demon series of carbs is necessarily any taller than other brands. you will run into these "clearance issues" no matter what carb you run.

and yes, this IS THE board to go to with any mopar question, especially demon carbs, talk to don (cuda66273)

Thanks dkn1997.

I currently have the Edelbrock Thunder Series, with a Moroso dropbase, which fits fine. But when looking at the Demon, I see the device that controls the vacuum secondaries sticking out, which will most likely be in the way of a dropbase fitting correctly. Anyway, I'll have to talk with Don. Thanks again.

Besides the bg demon is just another reworked holley and there are several types of drop base cleaners that will fit it.
