Can i install big C-body rear drums on my E-body?
I hear that I can put the big 11" x 3 drums on my Challenger if I change the backing plates. Lucky me, I have a friend who has a pair of plates I can have. Mancini has an inexpensive kit with all the hardware, shoes, and wheel cylinders. I just ordered my drums from NAPA and I got that last bad thought...
Will there be any problem with the axle length? I am thinking of installing Green axle bearings as well. Do you, or dont you, have to pull the center section to install or remove any type of spacer? Thanks, |

Sure they aren't 11 x 2.5?
I thought 11x3 were the front and the rare c body with tow package... |

Axle length is the same. I have done this swap to a few vehicles (10 to 11")
The green thing, I don't know, but I do think you have to remove the cross spacer, from between the spider gears. Someone else will know for sure. |

No, you don't need to remove that spacer. I was going to on my challenger, but then I decided to leave it in incase I ever wanted to put regular bearings back in.
