Default Carter Thermoquad

I am replacing my Holley carb with a Carter Thermoquad. Can anyone tell me the thread size of the fitting for the fuel inlet opening?

Sorry, I do not remeber it right off hand, but take it with you to any parts store and they can match upa hose barb fitting for you. Glad to see you switched to a better easier to maintain carb. You should be real pleased with it's performance over your old holley since the thermo is a hole lot more throttle responsive.

GOOD move...it is a much better piece especially on the street. Make sure that you have the air valve and choke pull-off adjusted properly.

HAY dwc......did you ever get that Mopar part # of that TQ four-hole plastic isolater/spacer that you claimed that the OEM used on the police carz ?? It as been almost TWO weeks since you promised that you would do that.

If your local parts store doesn't have it, 1 from an AFB, Carter or Edel. will work.

Thanks for the info. I have tried several Auto parts stores and a couple of hardware stores without any luck. I know Year One has the part. Hopefully I can find a store with the fitting.

Mr Fiberglass: Mopar part number for four 1/4 inch spacers for TQ is P4007902 if that is what you are looking for.

wow

dh........on another topic dwc stated that he uses a PLASTIC four hole spacer/isolater ALL the time on his carz ........... that Ma Mopar used on the assembly line with ALL those police cars.

I and others questioned him about this and he said that he would take the carb off and give us the ID or part #.

THAT.....was almost 2 weeks ago.

Yes, sorry about the delay. I've just been too busy to get to it, but I have not forgoten it. My Volare' Premire is still down and I've got every ones car to work on and no time for my own. Got one race car ready to start installing the cage an interview Tue. morn and meetings with nascar on both Tue. and Wend. night to confirm next years rules. Actually it will be a pis@ and moan session and we want get jack, but you still ahve to be there and pay for your numbers and rent your infield spaces. Thur. will be the first day I might get a break, so I'll ty to pull it off and get it then. They changed ownership of one of our Nascar tracks and it will be call the Music City Motorplex. They are breaking ground for a road course out sideof the 5/8 mile oval on one side and building a 1/4 mile drag strip on the other and working with Highland Rim Speedway so we can swap classes between the two tracks at certain times through the season and legends cars are back too after a 5 year lay off. Next year should be a good racing season.

Can't you fit a brake fitting? I has been a while but I think a brake line will fit. Just bend with a bender.

DWC43 I am going to pick up a 77 NYer this week sometime. What year cop car? I know where a bunch are. I'd like to get some. BTW the NYer has a 440! YEAH BABY!!

Rug, '72 to 85 if you can find them. The real small block only carbs and tq intakes ran from 79 to 85. Tha last couple years for they used quadrajunks because carter fot bought out and the companies future did not llok bright at all. Fedral Mogal finaly got it and then Edel wound up with it and ruined it for good.

Well if you cant find one the Weiand intake is much better than stock and the thermoquad can be bought new from Advance for around 189 or so. You might need to go that route in stead if your in a hurry.
