Default Thorley Tri-y's????

Has anybody heard how well the thorley tri-y's work??? Are they worth the $330 price tag??? THey are well built, but from a performance stand point...Im putting them in my pickup...yes my pickup, but this is a performance question. Are there headers out there that would perform better for a better price??? Im also putting a 4-bbl intake and TQ on with the MP w/ 248/256 duration and 410/425 lift. Along with the headers, I'll be putting on dual exhaust...are there any direct bolt on exhaust kits for 73 W100 pickups??? ANyway...any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I am also wanting to put in a better oil pump in...what is a good high volume-not high pressure pump that will have the pressure around 40-60 psi???

That's a good combo there, but you dont need a hi volume pump. You will risk running the sump dry and pumping air which will ruin your bearings. The stock pump with the mopar pperformance pressure spring added to it will be quite enough for your truck.

Pass on the tri y headers. Dyno shows they dont make the hp or tq numbers that a full lenght header makes. And you can get those for a lot less or about the same coated. Best route to take is to buy a set of Hooker or Hedman headers and some tech line coating and do them your self then wrap them with a heaper wrap to keep under hood temps down. Check out www.drgas.com and look at the numbers they got with there merge X pipe set up. A 2 1/2 pipe size with an x pipe nd some flow master mufflers will really help you out there and you have plenty of room under there to put it together too. We run something simular on our 4x4 that we use to tow one of our race car trailers with. Try this set up and you'll be pleased with it I'm sure.

I'll be putting on the Milodon deep sump oil pan so Im not worried about lack of oil...I don't want to just put a spring in the stock pump because I don't want a lot of pressure. Too much pressure means bye bye seals. I want high volume not pressure. I'll check on the headers though.
