anyone with a MP mini starter
FYI,
the aluminum in the mini starters is not as strong as the old style. the shroud can break off inside the bell houseing. this happend to me and I heard this rattling sound that i thought was coming from inside my motor. after tearing off the intake, heads, and oil pan, i eventually found my problem, the starter will still be good and work fine, but if you have one of these and hear the rattling sound.. check your starter befrore you tear apart your engine.. |

Thanks for the tip! I've purchased one but have yet to install it.
What noises did you hear so that I know what to look for? |

it was a loud rattling sound, what happens is the aluminum shroud breaks off, and then breaks apart in your bell houseing as it hits your converter and fly wheel, there was no damage other than the starter itself. I didnt know what it was, i thought i was gonna have to rebuild my whole motor..
