Default 451 stroker pistons

i am going to build a stroker for my duster using the kb215 pistons for use with the 400 rods and a set of 452 heads and was just wondering how big a cam i could go without valve interferiance i was thinking of running somewhere in the .550 lift range or will the pistons need milling . any help or advise on the stroker build up would be great.thanks guys and girls

There are valve reliefs in those pistons. Unless you do a bunch of deck or head milling, you should have no problems.

There is plenty of info on the 451 buildup at www.arengineering.com

Andy F posts on this board regularly. Check out the 451 manifesto.

Have you priced those pistons yet? I'm curious what kind of pricing the other Candian guys are getting.

What kind of reliability can be expected from a stroker engine? I have always heard that they don't last as long because of they're shorter skirt pistons.

I have many, many, miles and quarter mile passes on a KB215-451 engine. Get the ring gap right on the top and second ring. Don't run it lean...and they will perform well and last.

For the strictly performance oriented...Ross or Diamond.
