I have a Big Block motor that I want to eliminate the suction tube part of the oiling system. I want to use an oil pump that has a hose(s) that go to the oil pan for oil suction.

Can anyone recommend a system (hopefully from experience) to me? Are there systems to avoid? Thanks.

I don't know about any other systems than the Milodon; it works. Those external kits are usually a bit pricey and I have never used them in my own engines.

Been using the old Hemi half inch pickup system with Moroso 8 qt. pan & Mopar high volume pump for many years. Works great!

Are you buzzing this thing up past 7000 RPM on a regular basis? If not use high-volume oil pump, 1/2 inch pick-up, windage tray and the bigger pan. But if so the Milodon. I think, might be wrong, Doesnt Indy have a external oil pump for the stock big-block? I use the Melling HV-63 for the oil pump.

In my friends '77 Pontiac with a 440 mopar he uses a Moroso belt driven dry sump pump and has blocked off the normal pump. I think Indy offers an external system too that uses the stock style pump, and Ray Barton too. All these systems have one thing in common; they are expensive. They work great, but I have had bo problems with the 1/2" pick up and a big pan and a 7000 rpm 4.15" stroke engine.

I have been using the Milodon dual line system for some time. We used to shift the car at 7200, when we had the 5.13 gears and never had any oi related problems. The only other ones are from Indy or Titan. They both advertise in National Dragster. If you need the phone numbers, email me and I can get them for you.
