Default ger trannys need your opion

has any one ever heard of ger performance http://www.gerperformance.com/
they seem to have a killer deal on on trannys they have a 904 with a 10 inch 3500 stall converter for only 799.99 with a 5 year warranty on convertor and a 90 day on trans and they said as long as i still owned the tranny they will rebuild for $250 any time.

GER does not have a "good" name in the performance transmission business.

From what I have heard....they have alot of fine-print and hoops that you have to jump through to get anything OUT of them.....AFTER they have YOUR money.

They have the worst tranny's and converters on teh market. Run very far away from these people. They are almost as bad as b&m crap. Check out www.tciauto.com and get your tranny stuff from these guys. Some of the best race proven stuff out there and I want use anything other than TCI on any street or race car.

Well,I try to stay out of these tranny debates. But I do know ger is junk.I have had good luck with T.C.I. but we have heard others who havent.I do have a good friend who bought a vega with a T.C.I. tranny. When it failed he tore it down, and said it werent nothin special.Looked like a stock glide.----My advice,Find a good local tranny/converter builder and stick with them.

there are not tooooo many LOCAL builders of both trannies and converters.

STICK with companies like Fairbanks, Dynamic, Turbo Action or JW......... others are just a crap-shoot.

Well,There are around here. But that might not help Dusta340.I guess my reasoning is,If I have a problem, I dont have to try and ship a tranny or converter halfway across the country! And since most of the builders race at the same tracks I do.They tend to stand behind their work.

This is exzaclty why I learned how to do my own trannies. If it fails I am to blame. But ask me to build one for someone else forget it.

A LOCAL hi-performance converter BUILDER ??......... I am not talking about a converter FLUSHER.

SHIPPING a converter to a specialist is one thing....a TRANNY is another................. IMO.

I would have to agree with dusterrcr - Go to your local track and watch some races. See which tranny shop is used by your local racers. That tranny shop is the one that you want to rebuild your current tranny. They may be able to do your converter as well, but if not, stick with a well recognized name.

O.K Sorry There are actually NO tranny or converter BUILDERS in my area.I guess they are RE-Builders.Maybe I assume that everybody has old trannys and converters laying around. My local converter guy will "flush" if thats what you want,(By the way,Lets all make sure we flush)But he will also cut it open, repair or modify as close to your specs as possible. He did one for me a couple years ago that was trashed, metal to metal, fins broke off, etc.Cost $250 plus tax.Thats cheaper than a new one.And if I dont like it.I"ll show up on his doorstep.-----------------------Have Good And Get Give.

I use transbrake on a 3600 lbs challenger and no problems, am I on the way to destruction or what?

I hav'nt heard anything about YANK more then my friend told me.

YAnks are junk. Find you a good TCI converter before it dums on you and ruins your good tranny. www.tciauto.com

Thank you mister fiberglass,
I don`t post much,because I`m busy,
but you`d think that guy works for TCI.
maybe he does...
stick with real brand name convertors, not just JEGS house brand
sure there cheap....
but you get what you pay for in a torque convertor,
call paul at Turbo Action.

Smile Here we go again

Build the trans yourself, and use a Coan, Dynamic, or Turbo Action converter. It's a no lose deal.
