I personally have not, but a guy across the street from me just finished building a chasis for Frank ('68 cuda). I talk to him every few weeks; he's a mopar guy. He speaks very highly of Dynamic. He also uses Dynamic converters/transmissions on his own stuff.

I also have heard that Dynamic is very good stuff. I am going to try one of their converters on my b-body buildup next year.

I've read that Dynamic, is the standard by which all others are judged.

I don't know first hand, but I'm saving my paypal money for a Dynamic converter.

NO converter g n ??

I would be more concerned with THAT than a trans. You can have that done locally and there is not THAT big of a diff.

That's interesting. Was it the car or the converter that did it?

You could put the fairbanks one Ebay?

Anything with the word HEMI in the title seems to go high.

Dynamic is the leader in Mopar converters. Definite performance edge. First quality, but pricey. Superior performance at higher stall speeds and very efficient.

how pricey?? although my TCI Streetfighter is MUCH better than the PoS 12" that was in it when i bought it, i'm thinking of one that ACTUALLY stalls where it should (max on TCI is around 2900 instead of 3500 ). THAT....and i don't want it ballooning when i hit the "go baby go" button .

i'm a little nervous cuz i didn't see any prices listed online....but i'd call them (if i had approx price i could afford) and let them recommend one for my app...

if some jerk-off didn't steal my cdplayer, i'd be able to get something like the torque converter for x-mas or sumthin....but.... anyhow... how priceY??

Well it depends on the application and intended use. They are very-very easy to talk to and will ask for a lot of info....cam, gears, weight, intended use, displacement, etc. The really impressive thing is the results. 3500 is 3500 and 5000 is 5000, but the efficiency is incredible. Beyond the stall speed....you are hooked up. To answer your question...$500.00 to $900.00

And NOW the topic is about radios !!!!

So you just throw 1000$ at them and expect something thrown at you....just anything?

I have a Bud who raced a Stocker on the NHRA Div 2 circuit....if he did not like the converter - he sent it back.

AND making a converter HI-stall is NO trick ......

... but making it EFFICENT(upstairs) and hi-stall IS a TRICK !!

i brought a turbo action 8" converter about 5 years ago but a couple years ago i change my engine to a stroker small block and wanted to update my t.a converter.i talked to both t.a and frank over a dynamic and just talk to dynamic they have the stuff together.so i sent the converter out to dymanic and they went though the t.a converter.they told me that if i used nitrous or transbrake it would have blow in a thousand parts.but to up date my converter for my car and engine plus set up for transbrake it WOULD cost new almost $1,100 but since i had on already it was around $650.it been in the car for going on three years now.no problems.one other thing i was going to go to a 904 trans franks said eric its not worth the money to do that not for a tenth or two.i like that cause they are not out to take your money just to make your mopar fast.i have Frank dynamic decal on the back class on my race car cause i am happy with the product and service

My Dynamic stalls at 4200 with 3.5% slip at the stripe.....3 years old.

If you want to see who runs Dynamic Convertors visit their web site.

turns out, that TCI Streetfighter isn't as great for racing as i thought. today i raced a 2002 Trans-Am (350, headers, fuel injection mod, ram air, flow master...), and it only stalled at 2500, instead of the advertised 3200-3800...i lost by about 2 car lengths.

launched: 2500 (go pedal to floor on foot brake)
shifted at 6000
hit "traps" (pickup by road) at about 103mph 5900-6000 rpm
car weighs 4120 with me
26.6" rear tires (no slip - excellent traction)
4.10's in rear
727
carb = holley 650DP (jets etc unknown)
headers (1 5/8), 2 1/4 pipe (with H pipe), 24" glass packs, and 3" tips out the back
elevation (kansas...beats me )
temp = 69 outside, car was hot @ 170* after a 5 minute highway drive
OH YEA! tossed the fan belt at the end... 240* & water comin out the overflow ...thank god i got toolz with me, and the fella i was racing is my friend

i'm thinkin i REALLY need a better converter than the TCI. i WISH i had the money for a dynamic... maybe after i save up (got a job starting monday) next summer i can get one... other than it not stalling where it should, its a good converter IMO (better than what came out of the trans)

72 rr, if your car had 3" exhaust, you would have beat him. even without the CD player.

3" exhaust?? that be a pain in the ass to take up and over the axle.... the pipes are 2 1/4", but i have 3"echo tips (and there isn't a cd-player in it...yet). i think i should probably take out that 100lb+ speaker box out of the trunk, and do some stuffs to lighten that fat lady up...

btw: that trans isn't anywhere close to stock, and it's a bit lighter than the rr...oh well, he's a good friend of mine and it was just a friendly race . i'll get it sorted out next summer.
