Default does a msd 6a box work with stock engines?

I was just woundering, cuase I think im going to upgrade my stock ignition to msd. Are those good boxes? will they add some accleration? thanks

Yes they will work on a stock engine, Yes they are a good system and I dont think you will see any noticable increase in accleration but it will start better and hold the spark better over the entire RPM range

depends. does your engine have electronic ignition or points?? if it has electronic already, i don't see why it wouldn't work. i don't know about acceleration, but it might idle better (multi spark)...

cuda66273 has an ignition system that is more powerful than msd (although single spark)(i think) and cheaper too. you should drop him a line (www.4secondsflat.com).

Why do you keep asking the same questions!!?!!! The answer is always going to be the same!

The MSD will work great on an engine that can support and react to multiple spark ignitions. It is an excellent unit, but not on a bone stock 318. With a cam, headers, 4 Barrel, good converter, and decent gears the MSD would almost be essential. On a stock 318 it may start a little easier...

Why the :guns and he ask two simple ? yes the system will work on a stock engine and no it will not increase performance save maybe better starting
