Default frustrated with trying to find headers

okay here it is in short.

My car: 1966 Dodge Dart 270, with 225 slant.
i want: headers, prefer 6-1 (i want single exhaust out the back.

Mopar has headers for A-body AFTER 67 only.
Hooker same deal.

how different is the frame from 66-67?
how much modifying, if any, would be required?

anyone other than clifford offer headers?

and if so how do I contact them?

thanks

caesar

PAW sells them. Should not be that much difference in the frame set up.

Clifford makes them, but if I remember correctly, there is an interference problem on some cars that requires mods on the headers.

There are guys on slantsix.org and .com who have lots of experience with headers on early A-bodies.

I've seen the MP 6 to 1 headers on a '66 Dart, not something you will want to do. Because of the narrower frame, all kinds of interference pops up. The Dart owner unbolted motor mounts, bolted on header, dropped motor, raised motor back up, remove header, pound tubes with hammer, reinstall, keep doing till it fits.
Go with the Clifford shortys for best fit, even they need some clearence on pre'67 with PS. No 6 to 1 either. More $ too. MP- $130-$150. Clifford-$280, but a better quality header than the MP peice.

Clifford also makes 3 or 4 different styles of header, to better fit your particular application.

You could also fab up a set of "Dutra Duals" if you were so inclined.

the only thing that is going to fit your ride is the street rod headers from clifford. Nothing else out there.
