Default 440 Twin Turbo?

My neighbor and I have been talking about this and was curious to see if anyone here has experience or know of someone who has done it.

I can't remember the name, but I remember seeing his TT 360c.i. Cuda (I think 360).

Does anyone know of a good site or person to go for information?

I have his site in my favorites area.

http://www.pentastarpower.com/feets/newpage.html

In case anyone is interested.

The 1971 Charger goes by the name "The Haze" and it IS one nasty Mopar. He hangs out on moparts.com. You have to see the video's of the Charger going down the track...it's wild.

There is a guy in Dallas TX that has a twin turbo 440, The car was also in one of the mopar mags. I saw the car a small show in austin, The car is a black 60's model but I am not sure of the exact type. But the piping under the hood was cool.

Hey Bagherra, I was just curious as to why a Twin-Turbo instead of a Single? I've had a Twin-Turbo Subaru and it's pretty decent although I'm not a fan of Turbo's and there "LAG" but that's nothing when a 440 will quickly sort those poofter parts
I have been in many a mates Single Turbo and there is no comparison from around 2,000rpm it pulls pretty good - unlike the Twin-Turbos where they gain power from the first then a slight gap then the second one will join in, Subaru has gone back to Single Turbos - due to demand and there own beliefs.

I just thought you should consider a Single - But I don't know Turbo's all that well, quite a bit but a Twin-Turbo could handle more power or stress maybe? and that's why your choosing it?
Bigger isn't always better

Food for thought, while where on the subject of rice!

Cheers,
NZ

when you go twin, you can reduce lag by using slightly smaller turbo's that spool up faster. the combined boost should be the same as one single bigger turbo. (read this somewhere).

that, and it's just prolly bragging rights. IMHO i think it'd be harder to plumb in 2 turbo's than one, and one would be a pain in my book...at least, i don't have the experience to try and plumb one in to anything...

I see your points on a single turbo, some other people who I've talked with mentioned going with just one instead of two.

That's fine...I'm exploring some options right now. I'm not going to hop into it until I've done my research and know what I'm dealing with.

I've also thought about an underhood Procharger.

Good stuff there guys!

Yeah good man for checking everything out - which ever way you go Single or Twin you better take some dippers because it'll be one quick F#%ken ride

I see what you mean about the Twin Turbo and being able to make them spool faster, I got something similar done to my Subaru - they said it would make the car preform ALMOST like a single but not quite. The only problem with a single Turbo is it tends to over heat more and cause more trouble than two turbos doing the same job - it's fine for a Jappa with no eight under there and it only runs 12-13 sec 1/4's, come to think of it I see why they use twin-turbos, less trouble for the sake of 00.01 turbo flow.

It's a bloody hard topic as not many people do them to eights - Keep us posted Bagherra

Cheers,
NZ

I used to see a twin-turbo 440 DART at our local shows. Haven't seen the car or the guy since 96-97 or so, but I did manage to take some photos of his car back then. He built it all by hand, even the EFI system. There were huge pipes running everywhere under the hood and wheel wells...

TT440 is known as FEETS on another board, and is the one that has the writup on Pentastar Power. He has had a lot of problems getting the TT440 wrung out and running right, mostly do to mixture issues. Last I heard the engine was trashed from blown head gaskets, etc., and he was going to build another with efi, to get the mixtures under control. It is very, very difficult to get a street turbo to run well, and efficiently on a carb, as many have found out in the past.
