Default A Body 727

Another rookie Q here. What BB 727 would be used in a A body with a B/RB engine??? I'm confused because I was told you have to use a A833 for an A body only, does this apply to BB 727's as well? Thanks.

what generation a-body? If it is an early "A", you'll need a cutting torch and/or an un-sanforized A727B. Just about any A727B will work in the later body A.

This would be a 67 Dart. My friends not sure on a 383 or 440 yet, but he is NOT a 4sp guy lol. Ok so B body 727's are the ones to use. Thanks.

A727B means a B-engine(big block) 3spd automatic. Big block is a 361,383,400,413,426Wedge,440,426Hemi engine.

The 727 in my 65 Cuda came from a New Yorker went in fine I thought they were all the same other than bolt pattern meaning A engine trans will only fit A engines and B trans only fit B engines

Cuda '65, are you saying you put a BB and 727B in your '65 Cuda with no problems?

I guess it is no problem for you. Most people would call that install problematic.

Default Fenderwell Headers hummm....

Wildcargo tell me about using the fenderwells in your B body?? My Brother was thinking about that for his 68 Coronet w/440 but we've never seen that before. How do they fit and what problems if any did you have? I would love to see pics if you have any. If you can send me some to: DARTGT431@AOL.COM Thanks.

wildcargo,

Check out the Early A-Body forum on Bigblockdart.com

There are a bunch of pics and links there on Early A-body big block swaps.

Here's a link to one of the pics: 64 Valiant with a 440 in it.

ALSO - I just happen to have a 66 Dart for sale.......
