Default Driveshaft length

I am worried that my drivehaft is too long. What is the minimum allowable slip yolk "freeplay" for the slip yolk in a transmission?

I am installing an 8.25" diff and A833 4spd in my 74 duster. The car was originally a 7.25" rear and a 904 auto. I am using the 904/7.25 driveshaft. At ride height, I have 13/16" movement on the driveshaft until it bottoms in the transmission. Is this enough? I really don't want to shorten the driveshaft.

You should really have about 1.5" of movement.
