904 transmission with 4 gears?
is there any 904 /727 bolt on replacement transmission with 4 gears instead of 3 as the usual one has?
a more "Modern" 904? or is it possible to build one more gear into the 904?

Yes, there sure is, it is called the A500 (based on the 904) & the A518 (based on the 727) they came in late model trucks. (mostly Dakotas, & Rams) There are bolt on aftermarket O.D 's. I don't know for sure if one is available for the 904, I know for sure they are available for 727s.
