Default cuda66273's,FBO IGNITION SYSTEM

comments on the new ignition system?

Live in norway, and want to know if it's worth the price!?(-I guess so...? )
if, so, I'll probably be the first one in Norway to get the best ignition system?

I've installed it, and it works great. By all means wait for an endorsement form someone who doesn't sell the stuff too.

My only comment on the "worth it" question is this:

What can you buy, that's cheaper, and even compares?

Ignoring the output differences. A blaster coil and an orange box sell for more than the kit does.

Thumbs up

Just received my Ignition kit and recurved distrutor on Tuesday .
The setup looks good and will be a plug and play. have plans to install it over the Christmas Holiday.

This is an inexpensive and easy performance add on.

Are there any pictures of this new ignition system box and coil? Im wondering if it is somewhat stock appearing like the orange box or is it some big honking box that is troublesome to place in the engine compartment. Just wondering...

Installed the New Ignition & distibutor on wife's Challenger this morning. It's a plug and play.
34 degrees max advance @ 2900rpm.
13.5 degrees @ 750 rpm idle.
16.5" of Vacuum @ idle....steady.
Increased spark plug gap to .40"

When you crack the throttle, just like thunder.........response is RIGHT there...
thanks Don

This is one of those times when I get to say.......

"I Told You So"....with a Big Smile

We've had nothing but rave reviews worldwide from everyone who's plugged in the kit.

The Proto types of our new billet distributors should be here in less than a week and they should be ready for production in less than a month. We're shooting for Daytona Sunday for the 1st units ready to ship.

Pricing should be under $300 for the complete ignition kit including distributor.

How did you get 3 runs like that in without getting booted

At our track they'd have been waiting to boot you at the time slip booth after the first run

Dave:

I really don't know how I went so many passes. They did say after my pass with the dial in, that if I wanted to make another pass I had to slow the car down.

They did have a new guy in the booth Saturday.

Finally got a chance to install my new ign. system from Don.

Nice!!

18* initial, 36* total @3000RPM, 17" of vac. @ idle, opened the plugs to 40.

No vac. pod

Before the switch it didn't really want to pull past 4800-5000.

I cranked her right into 5500 in the first 2 gears w/o any trouble. Being that I'm out on the street with limited space I didn't have enough room to pull that rpm in drive. Don't know what my speed was, because I haven't corrected the speedo after the rear gear change... Need to get to the track.

Basic acceleration seems smoother, too.

DAVE :

As I understand it your system is only good up to 600 hp. Will the new billet distributor and the system be good for higher hp's. Currently running an MSD 6AL system with the Accel Super coil and the Chrysler Prestolite distributor with the tach drive. Would like to change to an electric tach and a billet distributor. I have read the details of your system and believe that it would function quite well. Was thinking of getting your coil to replace the Accel unit.

Cool $100 mopar cure....I'm gonna work on cancer next

aDjUSTER:
Keep your MSD Box use our Coil #G642 and our FBO Billet distributor with it, your good to 8800RPM.

It's not that our system won't carry more than 600 HP it's basically that and engine of that caliber really needs to have the Multi Spark features of the MSD or Crane HI-6 to give it better idle quality. The MSD also has a Rev Limiter which you need, so stay with your box and use our coil with it which runs circles around that Accell piece and out Billet distributor will run spark by spark with the MSD Billet.

Call me to place your order I'll have it shipped to Dave in his stock order or I can ship it direct and Dave will bill you from up there.

Note to all my Canadian Friends....All Canadian Orders go though Dave in Calgary you can still call me anytime but all the billing will be handled by Dave and he stocks lots of our stuff.

jasontlit:
Excellent!....I knew it would run way better, you old Orange box was pulling all the timing out of the motor.

Dennis Jokela:
Put me on the list for a complete kit including the dist.

Call me and I'll get a kit coming your way....don't hesitate I only have 2 SB distributors left and the next batch won't be here for another month.

I really want you to run our stuff I think you'll pulll even better numbers...My guess ...you'll drop 2 tenths.
