Default Leader Board?

Would it be possible to post a leader board? The "Fastest Street Car Thread" reminded me of a local Ford board. They post the times of their fastest cars.

I think that would be a great idea - if there thinking of upgrading a few things then what a perfect time to do so

Hey DW, you should get back into it - I didn't even know you stopped, I knew you raced but I thought you did the lot, why stop? To much racing I guess, plus you probably draged for ages then switched over to cirlce and asphalt - either one or the other type thing am I correct

One of the sites in the Dakota web-ring does just that, so Dak owners can keep up with S-10s and such. Last I checked, there were something like 900 trucks registered, with rankings, posted times, etc. And the best part was, all times submitted were verified before posting.

I would vote yes. I think they should post the cars specs on attachment (to save space) and a pic of their ride. I'm not worried about people fakeing their times I'm sure if the times are to hard to believe they will come under fire.

Started out drag racing, but switched to dirt. Ran some SCCA road courses one year and did well. Stuck with dirt for a while and then went NASCAR Sportsman Div. Always wanted to run NASCAR even as a kid. At first he money was not there and drags or bracket racing is cheaper of all the sports. Finally hit my big tiume now, so I'll stick with the NASCAR racing for now.

O.K., back to the original thread! Who is going to keep track of the E.T.'s? They have this kind of deal over at Moparts.com but he doesn't update the list too often. Who's going to volunteer?

I have not run that thing in years. We went oval track racing. Sits all alone in the back corner of the shop with 6 ft of dust on it. I know, it's sad, but I cant run them all and cant bear to get rid of it. I had that car since high school andeven had my first fate in it. She aint going no where any time soon. May have toreserect it some day soon. Maybe do the car show thing.

I can do it and keep the list posted at gsmopar.com if you guys would like. However, I think it would be more legitimate if it was part of moparchat.

If you want to do it like The Ultimate Phonebook, I will sticky it, once the thread is started.

If you are wanting some special format (other than a sticky thread) we will have to get with the site admin.

My only real concern is how are you going to keep it honest? The only ways that I can think of would be to either call the tracks for confirmation ($$$$) or have them scan in time slips and then email them to you (even that can be falsified...).

Sounds like good idea overall. To limit tom foolery, just post a pic of car and number with time slip.

That's an excellent idea ED, if they can scan photos of there car then they'll have no problem with scanning in there time slips

That still doesn't prevent, shall we say, "inflating" numbers. I don't have access to a scanner at all, but that doesn't stop my torn-apart Dart from turning a 9 sec. quarter while sitting in the garage.

the format is great but the site is full of BS. Check out the fastest 1/4 mile time its by a Alan guy with his Chevy running 6's at 190 If our page was to be full of that much BS I would just asoon not see the page made. http://www.dragtruk.com/ENTRIES/best_14et.html
