electronic ignition
I am going to convert my slant6 to electronic ignition, but I have heard that with the old style mechanical voltage regulators the ignition system may "skip" so to speak.
Is this true? Will my regulator be sufficient for the ignition? Should I upgrade to an old "style" mechanical regulator with the electrical innards? Thanks. Caesar |

IF your upgrading to electronic ignition and you still have the old points style volt reg. then yes it needs up grades too. Either use the new reg or get the new reg built into the old case if your trying to keep it some what original looking. If it is original, leave it that way. You want gain much in performance and it will make hte car loose value if you go changing out parts to non stock parts.

I am not too worried about the value of the car. Since I bought it for $1500 and it wasnt looking or running too hot. I am restoring the body and interior as per original specs, but that is about it.
I want to go electronic ignition since I will be upping the HP with some other bolts on. ALso hoping it will help on those cold starts in the mornings. thanks for the input. Caesar |

It will help on cold starts. For hp engine I would use fbo's ignition box or an msd box.
