Default Eliminateing the end play adjustment in a 8 3/4 rearend?

Iv read that there are bearing kits you can buy so you dont need to F... with the end-play in your 8 3/4 rearend. Anyone used thies bearings? And how do they hold up, where did you buy them?? Thanks.

I believe Mopar sells the kit, but I have not used one yet so I'm not sure how it works

they are a roller bearing, you will have to remove the spacer in the rearend diff so the axles will sit right. morrison in fife has those also,

Actually they are called green bearings. You can get them at many parts stores or from Randy's.

You will find that this is a topic of great debate. Many people have had great success with these bearings. Some people recommend against them. I have never heard of them causing an actual problem.

What's so hard about adjusting end play. Takes about 2 minutes, less if it's not far off.

I've run them on both street, drag, and oval cars without any problems at all. They work great.

If you change to a spool, there is no spacer in there for the axles to butt up against(so you can adjust your end play)Although i do have a friend who made a spacer with a piece of wooden broom handle! You solve this dillema by using the "green"brngs no adjustment necessary. With a sure grip or open rear its really not worth the expense

The green bearings don't cost a lot more than the timkins, so the extra expense really isn't worth mentioning...

With my budget, ANY extra expense is worth mentioning!-LOL this was my point Assuming theres nothing wrong with the tapered roller brngs that are already on the car, and doing a fine job.I think the green brngs are about 80 bucks?(havent checked lately)How about the cost of having the old ones pressed off,and the new ones pressed on the axles? They arent just going to jump on there. last year I broke a axle on my Duster, and had to have that "green" brng removed from the broken one and pressed on the new one. They charged me about 60 bucks! If you have to have this done- fine! but on a car without a spool it wont run any better,or look any better.
