HELP!!! trans problem?
Ok...heres the deal. My 833 transmission keeps getting stuck in reverse, (1-2 gear is stuck with reverse). Two days ago it happened and I had to use vicegrips to free it up, I figured that the pistol grip shifter mechanism was out of alignment so i stuck a 1/4 inch rod through it and aligned the shift rods. All was well till today.......It did the same thing and now im at a lost.....if it isnt an out-of-alignment shifter mechanism, then what is it???? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Inside your side cover plate, the mech. is screwed up. This should never happen. Your the only other person I know that had 2 gears stuck at once. me being the other person.
What year tranny? You may need a new set of internals of the cover plate. Not a big deal. I really don't like to recomend Year One, but they do have the parts. If they have it, someone cheaper has it. |

thanks
Thanks for the advice, the 833 is from a 70 440-6 cuda. I just broke lose the crossed gears and took it for a spin.... I also drew the reverse rod in closer so now i think i might have taken care of it. I will call passon's or brewer's performance and see what they have to say. Thanks again.
